Explain Distinguished, and Presidents 100

I've only shot one match and got hooked. I'm hearing people say "distinguished" and "presidents 100". What is that? I do understand distinguished revolver and have read the rules that go along with that. But also what is "distinguished pistol shot"? What are the different achievements you can make in bullseye and how do you get there?

I've been doing some reading. So the CMP governs the distinguished pistol shot badge, and now the 22 rim fire pistol badge. The distinguished pistol shot is what the "hardball" guns are for if I read right. And the distinguished revolver is an NRA thing, not CMP.

Then the NRA has it own distinguished for things like revolver, ppc, rifle any other stuff.

Don't forget that each branch of the service has their own set of Distinguished badges...
