Going to order custom dies for S&W Long Wad Cutters From Lee Precision

I used Lee's email form where I was able explain in detail what I was after. Peter from Lee Precision gave me a very extensive explanation to help me decide how to go. He explained that the brass has an average elastic memory of .001. If I am after a sized case of .333 diameter I need a sizing die of .332. I am going to order a .332 and a .333 sizing die. Set up is $30.00 and the die is $28.98 with $6.00 shipping. the whole thing will cost $64.98. So for both sizes will come in at $130.00. If anyone is interested in these sizes I wouldn't mind splitting some of the setup fee. Let me know if any are interested. I will probably place my order Monday afternoon, 3/28.

Interesting, Lee must have changed their policy.

I ordered several Carbide Sizing dies in the past and they were $30.00 each. No setup fees.

The sizing die needs to be over size. Standard sizes down to .330 and it needs to be .333.

Too bad all .32 barrels are not .311 groove diameters. Just dreaming.....

Wouldn't it be much simpler to open the carbide ring up with some grinding compound and then polish it with flitz?

To open carbide you need diamond paste and patience.

Thanks for the information Dave. I will try to get through to Lee Manufacturing Monday. Their phone seems to be busy every time I try.
