Chrono Recommendations?
I'm thinking of getting a chrono to check velocity on reload variables. I only do 9mm and do not shoot competitively but want to understand what velocities are best suited for my 2 pistols. Thanks for any comments.

Re: Chrono Recommendations?
I have used my PACT for almost 30 years. I like the slightly longer spread of the sky screens compared to the 'fold-up' chronys and such, then again I lose the ability to just fold it up. If I were to need a new one I'd probably look at an Ohler (based only upon reputation, I have never used one).
While it is less convenient to have to uncoil cables and run them back to the display on a shooting bench, it's a lot more convenient to order just a new sky screen rather than a complete unit when you shoot a low shot. To date, I have only grazed a screen and hit an upright (hard to see them through a high power scope), nothing a bit of duct tape could not cure but.....

Re: Chrono Recommendations?
They'll all work for 9mm (or any other calibers).
I have a Chrony Gamma(I think) plus printer.
The printer is very useful, in my opinion mandatory. Much easier than copying numbers to a notebook. I do that from the tape at home.
Memory, storage and all features other than basic string statistics is useless to me. I never go back and look at old data saved in memory.

Re: Chrono Recommendations?
I have been pleased with my Caldwell. It works well and is cheaper than some because the "computing" functions are all in a free App that runs on your iphone. You plug your phone into the chrono on a 15 foot cord and run it from your phone. Have had no problem with the sky screens but they also offer a set of IR lighted screens as an extra. I suspect they have an Android App too but did not check.

I have a CED Millennium 2 with IR screens. Good unit.
I was keeping a very close eye on the LabRadar. It has been sold out on the preorder, but based on feedback on the highpower site I ordered one - not sure when I will get it. What I like is you set it up next to or slightly behind you, so you could set it up shoot your test loads and take it down without having to force the line to go safe while you set up & take down. It tracks the bullet for up to 100yds, too. Probably overkill just for handguns.

I have a CE Digital Pro Chrono. It works great and the iphone Ap is especially handy.
