Brazil Springfield
Cabelas has a Springfield FIBRAZIL marked. Looks and feels worked on. Good finish, decent trigger, full length guide rod. Sight looks like a Novak type. I don't need another 1911, but am curious about the Brazil made ones. It's priced $500ish. I say again it looks good.

Mil-Spec pistols used to be Brazilian made. Nothing wrong with them. They build just like US pistols.

Re: Brazil Springfield
I purchased one in the early 1990's. Put 7 rounds down the bore to check function, cleaned it and put it up. Ya the Brazil on the frame is not something I jump up and down over, but at least it does not say "read the instruction book".
A couple of months ago I brought it out and ran maybe 200 down the pipe. Absolutely flawless. It is now at the smith being converted to a poor mans race gun ie bowling pin gun. My arthritis requires a slide racker so that is going on, a FF III red dot and 3 lb trigger pull and I should be all set. It shoots 200 gr swc's with ease. bob

Re: Brazil Springfield
My first wad gun was built off a Springfield Brazilian "loaded''.
It's seen over 68,000 rds and is still my favorite. No offence to the other ponies in my stable.

I thought all SA 1911 pistol frames, slides and barrels were made by Imbel of Brasil ?
Did not know that they changed recently ?
I just remember that if more than 50% of the pistol was assembled in Brazil, it was roll marked that way.
Just as if more than 50% assembled in Geneseo, it was roll marked that way.
"N" serial = Brazil
"NM" serial = Geneseo
Also; to the OP, the pistol is good to go.
Had a Brazil that Dave Salyer built for me which took me to Master.
Someone else owns it now and I believe that pistol took him to Master also.
My current Geneseo that Dave Salyer built for me with a Marvel unit 1 is my only .22 that I have and compete with.
They both were produced from the same forging plant.

Re: Brazil Springfield
All the recent Mil-Spec pistols I've built have been US manufacture. Not sure what else to say

Clarence, no. I only know what I read on the frames. Recently worked on a Mil-Spec that was almost as tight as a RO. So hopefully SA is upping their game.

Re: Brazil Springfield
If I remember correctly,
The serial number on the OP pistol is N......
The frame dust cover has FIBRAZIL on it.
Barrel hood says Springfield.
I'm gonna go look at it again
