Hard to go wrong with RWS Meisterkugeln. They make two weights. The lighter one is for pistol.

Pellet guns are picky. You have to try a bunch to find the sweet spot. Then I adjust the velocity to tweak accuracy even further. I have one gun that is by far best with Superdome. Another is terrible with them but great with meisterkugeln Pistol. Every gun is different in my experience. With that said, if your doing 10 meter and just practicing, you need not spend more money than rws hobbies or diablo.

My experience is limited, but I disagree with the previous comments, at least in regards to high quality target airguns. Just about any quality pellet will be much more accurate than you in the LP50.
JSB, H&N, RWS, Vogel are all good. Even Gamo and Crosman will probably group pretty small at 10m.

I use Merlin Match bought directly from the CMP for <$80/5000.
I have yet to find a pellet that won't group in a single hole and cover the inner 10 @ 10M.

Most people simply read the test target and go with that pellet if it can be found. Ot
Otherwise, anything of Quality will work, anything that's not Quality is not worth buying.

Answers are MUCH funnier on TargetTalk:-). That said even the Excite pellets at under a penny a piece will give great accuracy at 10 meters.

Hey, I haven't trotted this ol' horse out in a while:
Wait until you break 575 in two matches in a row, then worry about testing pellets.

Re: Preferred pellets for Steyr LP50?
I shoot RWS Basic in practice and R10 light for matches. The truth being that my Morini will shoot in the ten ring with either at 10 meters. It just makes me feel better to use the pricier pellets for matches. Any good air pistol will probably stay in the ten ring with just about any decent pellet. Follow John Bickar's recommendation. If I ever break 575 in a match (not likely at this stage of the game) I'll test pellets for my air pistol. Air rifle is a different story.
