FAS 6004 air pistol
I was looking at getting an air pistol to help with my shooting so I can practice at home and was wondering if anybody has tried a FAS 6004 air pistol. Looks like a good value as a training pistol. I don't want to mess with the air pistols that use CO2 or compressed air, nice as those are the cost is a bit prohibitive.
thanks

Re: FAS 6004 air pistol
I have one and like it a lot. The only downfall for me is I usually shoot with a dot and I don't see a good way to mount a base. The iron sights are good. My woodshop is 50 feet long so it is easy to set up to shoot 10 meters. The accuracy is quite acceptable for me, I also like the grips. Easy to cock, moderately difficult for me to line up the pellet into the chamber (maybe it's just old stiff hands). Trigger is good and is adjustable but I haven't touched it. I bought it from Airguns of Arizona. I phoned them and discussed the purchase with a representative. Unfortunately, it was out of stock but I was put on a waiting list and they called when it was in. Pleasant purchase.
Through the winter I shoot an indoor league once a week about 50 miles away (they alternate rimfire at 50 feet and centerfire at 25 yards. The FAS gives me an opportunity to practice when it is too cold outside to practice at my local club. It is also inexpensive to shoot.

jglenn21,
Thanks for directing me to a very interesting thread. I will work on those modifications when I get caught up on projects.
