Re: FAS 6004 tips?
I have one I can't see how one would be mounted on the top because it cocks by lifting the lever up. The top lever metal is pretty think but maybe it could be drilled and tapped but I don't know if it is thick enough. I like the pistol it is fun to shoot but the velocity is too low to be really useful as a competition pistol. There are some tips for improving the seal of the barrel which helps a bit but the velocity is still low. Good luck and if you find a way to put a dot on it let us know.

There's a thread over on Target Talk about improving it.

I haven't done any of those things to mine. I just use it for some indoor trigger time that's more fun than dry fire.

Were you fixing a problem, or giving it a tune up? What kind of improvement did you see?
I've had those instructions bookmarked for a while, but I've been reluctant to mess with mine, as it seems to shoot OK, given my beginnerish skill level. Not sure if there's anything to wring out of it. (I usually shoot a 250-270/300 NMC course with my service pistol or S&W Model 41.)

Re: FAS 6004 tips?
Hey PGG my 6004's velocity was very low, I did not chronograph it but it seemed to be much lower than the 400fps as advertised, I did the tuneup that was talked about in the article in the targettalk link. The end result was that the velocity was much higher, I had to drop the rear sight about 10 clicks and the pellets cut cleaner holes. The velocity is still to low but it is better.
thanks

Re: FAS 6004 tips?
These are nice little pistols but definitely not serious competitive air pistols. They’re very low velocity at best. I sold one for a friend who bought it from a member here. The previous owner had done the TT tune up on it. The guy who bought it from me chronned it at 290 FPS.
If you use the expensive German targets, it will usually cut a clean hole. National targets will be hard to score.
