Anyone Ransom Rest a Ruger MKIII ??? Empty Anyone Ransom Rest a Ruger MKIII ???

Has anybody here have some data or results from ransom rest test shooting a Ruger MKIII with a stock factory barrel? I have a MKIII Target model with a 1" Ultra Dot on it and it shoots great in timed and rapid fire. 50 yards is a challenge so that's why I wonder what its capabilities are.

My Ruger 22/45 would put them all in the x ring at 50yds just using sand bags and a 4x scope. Using Wolf ammo (which I have not seen lately). That was good enough to let me know that anything not in the center was my fault. I let my son have it because it was accurate but even with Volquartsen guts I never liked the trigger.

I haven't bought the Mark III adapter for my RR yet but shooting it indoors at 20yds off a rest it will do a 10 shot group all in a hole my PC program says is .26".  I have the VQ trigger assy but had to put the orginal trigger spring back in as the breaking point was 1lb 10oz now it is 2lb 4oz.  I am shooting it with a Match Dot II using the 1 MOA dot when shooting off the rest.  I had done a lot of test on many brands of 22 LRs off the rest and with my Lab Radar.  Some of the cheaper ammo test as good as cheaper Match Grade even when it is the same brand.  I have not tested the expensive stuff as I can't afford to shoot it anyway.

Len mine will also and I had to put the VQ trigger assy in it as it's trigger was terrible.  I do have feed problems with a lot of brands of ammo as it will jam the bullet into the top of the chamber and put a huge deep smilely face in the bullet.  So I am not using it for BE.  Don

Check out my post from a few years ago (link below).  It was my first time using a Ransom Rest and I was using 1911 grip adapters, but I made it work best I could.  I would expect to see better results than shown.
