Trigger Finger …… The Medical Diagnosis
I have it in the middle finger of my shooting hand, and it’s getting worst. My Dr is recommending surgery and I’ve been putting it off. I’m apprehensive because I’m concerned with the impact on my grip. Ever have the surgery? What was your recovery experience? Any long term impact? Do you regret having the surgery?

Been there done that. Lots of nerves in the hand. After surgery very sensitive. Will take several months before you can grip it hard again. After you heel you'll never know you had it done. Definately get/go to therapy.

Assuming they've tried injections first? They worked for me.

Re: Trigger Finger …… The Medical Diagnosis
I had 3 joints in my fingers and thumb, carpel tunnel at wrist and elbow all done on the same arm, same day.Just the normal pain you would expect. I don't remember much recovery time. ALL problems went away, like it never happened.
Get it done soon, you will never look back.

I have trigger finger in my non-shooting hand. It never gets better on it's own. Cortizone shots work for a while, but surgery is the permanent fix.

I have had pulley release surgery on my ring and middle fingers and two cortisone shots in my trigger finger on my shooting hand. This was in 2011. My advise is to get it done and get it over with. There will be some down time, but it is well worth it in the long run. you will not regret it.

Re: Trigger Finger …… The Medical Diagnosis
I had carpel tunnel surgecy on both hands many years ago. As a electronics tech in was dropping yo many screws as I couldn't feel them between my fingers. Now they are getting numb again 20 some years later. Doc told me that they often need redone. That won't happen at 70 as long as I still can feel the trigger. The right hand hurt for a year if I put pressure on it. The left was done years later and went way better. Don

Thanks for the feedback. I'll call the Dr to get on his schedule.
