Redding Dual Ring Sizing Die ?
Anyone using the Redding Dual Ring Carbide Sizing Die in 45 ACP?
Is it producing better cartridges? Longer case life?
Are you seeing improved accuracy?
All input is appreciated.

Re: Redding Dual Ring Sizing Die ?
When I put together my 45 press I bought one but found it sized the brass too small for the lead bullets I was using. I was experiencing spring-back after expanding for .452" lead.
Maybe it works well with jacketed bullets?

I would be interested in real data if any exists on this issue, and was collected in some legitimate fashion. My guess is that there will be a lot of the "should'a, would'a, could'a," anecdotes that are often proffered as evidence of truth for such and so claims. Seems like this query is digging in a dry well.

fwiw,
have not tried them yet, still using a Dillon 550 for 45acp
(and realize I may need to move over to the Co Ax

well... I would like to see a good Wible analysis on dry firing. I have always suspected 14.3 minutes was the sweet spot. The Six Sigma studies that show that reloads go bang are underwhelming.
Used Starline run through the Redding dual ring sized to 473"/.467" OD.
Hornady 454 Casull was .468"-.469" OD.
I only load Alabama lead. It shoots really well when my coach demonstrates it at 50 yards to prove the pistol/ammo is definitely not the problem.

I am kind of enjoying this thread. I like the Sa-tevp quote - "It shoots really well when my coach demonstrates it at 50 yards to prove the pistol/ammo is definitely not the problem."
Since I need 45 ACP dies anyway thought it worth asking..
Thanks all..

This is a totally legit reason to buy this die, you don’t have to quantify a thing.
The reason I bought a Redding dual ring was because my Lee die was not sizing correctly. Redding has a top notch rep, so it was unlikely to be a bad choice. I really like mine and it works so well I built a bulk sizing/decapper from a Lee progressive press with a Lee 4 tube case feeder and hopper and the only die in it is the Redding.

I cannot answer any of your questions with any sort of quantitative data. All I can say is that I use it and I like it. I have had zero issues and it' a paid for, therefore I continue to use it.

No, just cheap. I just can't spend the money on the Redding stuff for pistol ammo; not knocking other folks who do- but I just have to wonder how there is a double the price difference between Lee and Redding is all.
I'm an arborist, actually. I spend money on chainsaws

esp when it comes to long range or precision loading, better dies load better ammo, and know a guy that proved it
not sure if that would translate over to Bullseye (as far as ammo consistency, )

Not doubting the difference in the rifle world- I load my 06 for deer with Lee dies, works well enough for me, but not trying to take shots at 500 yards in crosswinds of 50mph, either.
