Hammerli 280 Thoughts?
One on Gunbroker now. Comes with a 32 conversion with a 1 in 10 barrel.
Thoughts? Worth considering?

Yes. Great pistols for Bullseye. Only shoot standard velocity ammo.

Re: Hammerli 280 Thoughts?
Greetings Dcforman,
Unable to locate pistol on GunBroker.
Has it been sold?
I would like to have read more about the ten twist barrel.
Perhaps listing the GunBroker auction number or posting a link to it?
Cheers,
Dave

Look through the pics for barrel info. No Smith or manufacturer specified, I believe.

Re: Hammerli 280 Thoughts?
Greetings Dave,
Thanks, I found the description.
Considering the upper has been drilled and tapped I would shy away from it. The Carbon-Fiber may develop cracks at the point of the holes. I suspect there is a nut holding the Weaver bases on? If they tapped the Carbon-Fiber itself, I would be disappointed.
The Carbon-Fiber housings are expensive to replace. Also, they only offer the new style with the screw in front, under the muzzle. To convert an old gun, you need to send in the receiver and have it replaced.
Cheers,
Dave
