Aviator Style Shooting Glasses
I've been searching for a pair of glasses for bullseye so I can utilize a flip blinder. I'm thinking that the blinder only works with an aviator style pair of glasses. I do not wear glasses for eyesight correction and I don't want to break the bank during the purchase. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Which style of flip blinders are you considering?
I use the 12 dollar plastic flip blinders on Oakley Fives Squared and Half Jackets from both the first and second generations.
I mount my white blinder on top of the frame, or my black blinder on the bottom inner corner near the nose piece. Both blinders have been carved with the help of a dremel and a steady hand to cover the lens and not impact my nose.
I find them pretty darn adaptable to different glasses styles and frames.

I wear mine on the bill of a baseball cap - which incidentally always come to me for free. Then I don't have to worry about my glasses getting scratched or it impacting the "feel" of my glasses.

The clip-on / flip-up blinders as sold by Champion's Choice will work on most glasses. They won't scratch the lens unless the little rubber feet wear out or come off, which can happen. Clipping it to the brim of a hat makes more sense, but it didn't work for me. I could probably get used to it if I had to.

Do have any experience with these glasses? I'll probably just grab a pair due to the low price.BE Mike wrote:https://www.amazon.com/62110-Engineer-Aviator-Safety-Glasses/dp/B0042T45YC/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=clear+lens+aviator+safety+glasses&qid=1568327455&s=gateway&sr=8-9

Here's my next question, why a black or white blinder?SteveT wrote:The clip-on / flip-up blinders as sold by Champion's Choice will work on most glasses. I recommend a white blinder. It lets the same amount of light into both eyes and your eyes don't work against each other. A black blinder blocks more light so your pupils dilate at different sizes. This causes more eye strain.

I have both. For some reason overall scores are higher with the black one, but there are so many variables that it's impossible to attribute the difference to a piece of colored plastic on my face.
Recommend you get both and try them out. They're cheap, and you'll have a backup.

I like the clear translucent one. It just takes part of my left eye out of focus but allows the same amount of light in. http://www.dhawk.com/index.php?pr=Shop_Gunstar_3

No, no experience with them as I've had to wear prescription glasses for the last 30 years, but as you say, at the low price, you really can't lose.ssauer2004 wrote:Do have any experience with these glasses? I ended up ordering a pair last night night. I also order a white flip-up blinder from Amazon. I believe the total cost was around $20.00.BE Mike wrote:No, no experience with them as I've had to wear prescription glasses for the last 30 years, but as you say, at the low price, you really can't lose.ssauer2004 wrote:Do have any experience with these glasses?
