The photo I've attached is the German schematic. So you can see the two-piece guide rod. The rod/button are machined as one piece. There is a German dealer that sells replacements with the capability of changing recoil springs for your P210: http://www.pistolenspezialist.de/epages/62174389.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/62174389/Categories/%22SIG%20P210%20%20%20%20Tuning%22. The US version is completely different, shorter, and incapable of (effectively) using round wire recoil springs. The mechanics are similar though. The muzzle-end button breaks off easily, since it is not machined (as one-piece with the rod) as in the German version.Rick H. wrote:Tovaert: It would appear that the rod itself is one piece with no separate button on the muzzle end. On the other end of the rod it appears that the end with the hole for the slide lock lever is screwed into the recoil rod guide. There is a flat on the rod for possibly an open end wrench. There is also a stamped notation on the end of the rod that states "max. 5Nm" which obviously indicates the end is torqued into the guide rod. The overall length of the recoil rod from my German Legend Target 5" gun is 4.630" or 117.6 MM. The diameter of the recoil rod guide is .275" or 7.02 MM.
I have a friend who is an FFL holder and supposedly he is ordering me a P210A American made target model and if/when it arrives I will compare the recoil rod assemblies.
As far as the front sight, I sent my slide to Robert Burke in TX ("The Sig Armorer") and he installed a new plain (non-fiber optic) front sight for me. It's a Dawson sight (https://dawsonprecision.com/dawson-precision-sig-p-series-black-front-sights/), .180" tall, 0.14" wide, ramped, serrated. I'm happy with it.

Sorry about digging up an old post but, where did you get the bottom pic rail in the picture? It looks like one of those 1911 trigger guard mounted rails cut off. Thankstovaert wrote:I replaced the trigger return spring and installing a heavier sear spring. I also disassembled the hammer block assembly (easy) and polished the sear surfaces. It has user-adjustable sear engagement, a simple and well-designed feature. My trigger is now 2-stage...about 2-1/2# first stage, then a wall, then a 1-1/2# break. It's more like my Geissele HS SR trigger. It will lift a 4# weight. I also re-designed/machined the guide rod so that you can capture/uncapture and install a variety of recoil springs. My spring of choice is the 16# flatwire for the CZ P-01 sold by Cajun Gun Works. This stiffens the lockup considerably over the factory (~11#) recoil spring. Robert Burke (The Sig Armorer) in Texas has a better front sight than the stock fiber optic model...he installed mine. It is accurate (for a $1500 pistol), and with the 1:10 twist barrel it will group nicely with 147 gr XTPs of Zero JHPs, running about 900-950 fps MV. The recoil impulse is almost identical to my SA 1991A1 CF pistol shooting 200 CSWCs at 750 fps. My walnut grips are from Grips4U.net. The cheap plastic pic rail is my install (for a MantisX), fixed with 3M VHB double-sided foam tape...legal for CMP EIC. Armory Craft sells a red dot base for the Target model. It fits in place of the rear sight.

Amazon...then trim it. https://www.amazon.com/GOTICAL-Picatinny-Hunting-Shooting-Adapter/dp/B092SX19F2icysteam wrote:Sorry about digging up an old post but, where did you get the bottom pic rail in the picture? It looks like one of those 1911 trigger guard mounted rails cut off. Thanks
Adhered to the bottom of the dust cover using some double sided 3M tape. https://www.amazon.com/HitLights-Double-Sided-Heavy-16-4ft/dp/B0B6VZVX5S
You have to trim it a little to fit, but it's easy since it's soft plastic.
I only mounted this in order to attach a Mantis X3.

Yep that's what I imaginedtovaert wrote:Amazon...then trim it.icysteam wrote:Sorry about digging up an old post but, where did you get the bottom pic rail in the picture? It looks like one of those 1911 trigger guard mounted rails cut off. Thanks

I want to attach a MantisX system as well and I don't see this setup holding the weight of anything heavier or being able to hold zero, especially with recoil

Re: New Model Sig Sauer P210 Target ?
It worked fine with the Mantis. The sensor unit is light. The 3M adhesive tape is *very* strong. Ultimately when I removed it, there was no residue or evidence thereof on the dust cover, so that was good. When bolting the two halves together, the width of the rail will be slightly greater than the Mantis (the dust cover radii, 1911 vs. 210A, are slightly different). But it's easy to get a very snug fit between the Mantis and the rail with some sandpaper. It is a useful combo for training on the P210A because of the trigger. I used it for dry and live fire with no issues. As you know, a "zero" is irrelevant with the Mantis.Yep that's what I imagined

I bought a P210 Trgt recently and think it's a great gun. Though past competing I am enjoying shooting it immensely. It would seem an excellent candidate for use in "ball" competition.
From reading the posts here the BE guys are making/finding dot mounts and the "little" things that
help make guns BE competitive.
I would think with some load development, spring testing, and the other small refinements mentioned here the 210 would make a good CF pistol, if one were needed.
