I have one. I live about a half mile from Ed and became friends with him at the range over the years. Got to watch him develop and test the dragon, put my name in for one and ended up with I think #10. Only shot it a handful of times and put it away.

So how much does it really lower the recoil? I saw the Youtube video and appears it might be a bit less but hard to tell how objective the test was. Also anyone know the cost when new? Is Ed still alive?

Recoil is less but it all depends on the load. If I remember correctly you would have to go 4.2-4.4 on powder to get accuracy at 50 yards. New they we’re around $3500. Haven’t been shooting so not sure if Ed is still with us. I’ll ask some friend that still go out to the range.

Well, I was the high bidder for the last few days. I stopped north of $3k today and it has 9 days left. Maybe someone here gets it.

Well Don, you and I bid it up for someone else to have a go. I know it's rare but it's not worth that to me.
Re: Masaki Dragon Gun
Certainly a rare beast. But I have heard that due to the very small number produced, over quite a number of years, Mr. Masaki was not able to source really top quality match barrels.
That point will certainly not deter the collectors, but it kinda knocks the shine off for the serious Bullseye shooter. IMHO.

My friend said Ed is still around, he comes into his brothers feed store.

I bet that thing would shoot better with atlanta arms or zero 185 jhp. Both are on the hot side. Would run a lot cleaner in gas gun than lead.

Re: Masaki Dragon Gun
I was watching this auction, and I planned on a $3500 bid. There are more than a few who want this gun more than I do.
However, it is a Unicorn, and they never come cheap.
Does anyone know how many exist?
