Eley Bullseye Pistol .22 Ammo
First topic message reminder :
Anybody have any experience with the Eley BE Pistol .22 Ammo?
What did you think of it. How did it compare to SK Standard or other similar ammo?

My 2 cases were ordered on 9/1 and they are still "processing ASAP". Hey, that's still quick for govt work.
Re: Eley Bullseye Pistol .22 Ammo

Each round has to be COVID tested prior to shipping! It's painstakingly slow work....be patient!bpettet wrote:My 2 cases were ordered on 9/1 and they are still "processing ASAP". Hey, that's still quick for govt work.

out of two Hammerli 208s.Were going out to the range Tuesday, we will try my lot out of both of his
hammerli's for function. Then his lot out of my two Hammerli's 208s and a S&W 41.

Re: Eley Bullseye Pistol .22 Ammo
Larry tells me I'm wrong, but I've been shooting the CMP Eley for weeks now, and whenever I move the Aimpoint H-2 all the way to the rear (over the ejection port) things start going wrong. Happened again today. I moved the H-2 forwards so it didn't cover the ejection port. No more problems. This is on my Nelson. Larry tells me it is not a problem to have the Aimpoint all the way to the rear, but that's when I start having feeding issues. (I was speculating that an ejected round hits the Aimpoint base and drops back down into the gun, to interfere with the next round trying to load.R*P*DR* wrote:A friend and I are going out to test his lot of CMP Eley #2117 40095. I didn’t see “in stock” on the site. Not sure if it lists if it’s not?

If you place an order, and it goes through, they will send an email confirmation.
As far as I can tell, it's still available, but you could call them or write them:

Re: Eley Bullseye Pistol .22 Ammo
I ordered a case of CMP on 8/19, still waiting.
I called last week, was told "at least another week."
Good thing I've got a case and a half of Eley Action 40g from earlier this year.

Re: Eley Bullseye Pistol .22 Ammo
Based upon reviews I ordered some of this ammo to give it a try. Finally received my order this week. I am very impressed with it. Very accurate in the Pardini (50yds) and I really like the feel. Will give it a go in my other guns to see if any issues when I have more time

Re: Eley Bullseye Pistol .22 Ammo
I just shot 200 rounds of bullseye x in a AW 093. It did okay but it likes pistol king better.

Eley Bullseye X in Pardini SP
I shoot two bullseye leagues a week in the winter time.
My gun is a Pardini SP with the 5"barrel.
I have always used Lapua Pistol King or SK Pistol Match (both made in the same factory)
After reading the article about Eley's Bullseye X which was designed with Pardini's input, I purchased 2000 rounds to try.
I have had nothing but alibi issues since. Averaging 3 to 4 out of every box of 50 rounds.
I contacted Pardini USA and talked to Alex and at his recommendation I replaced the recoil spring and the "o" rings (13 of them) on the recoil buffer.
Again, 3 to 4 alibi's per box.
I went back to the Lapua/SK and all of the issues went away.
Has anyone else experienced this with the Bullseye X?
Please advise. Manny.

Re: Eley Bullseye Pistol .22 Ammo
I have two SP22's, configured 6" with iron sights, 5" with red dot. Used Bullseye Pistol X for all matches from June onwards last year. About 2000 rounds. I do not recall any ammo related alibis with the 22 during a match.
But, I did have one new unopened box of BPX which contained several rounds with deformed brass and a dented bullet. A couple of the clean rounds in that box would not go bang. Fortunately I noticed the defects either when sighting in or during slow fire (can't remember which), but either way it did not cost me any points. I reported the box to Alex, for their information. Used up the rest of that bad box in training.
I generally use Aguila Super Extra SV for training. It happens to have quite similar characteristics to BPX. Maybe not quite such tight groups (but that could just be due to me). Occasional dud, which usually goes bang on second try.
I also have some Lapua Pistol Match. I found it to be quite a bit softer (similar to Eley Target) and not as reliable in cold/damp weather. I decided to keep it in my stash as a "spare" summer local match ammo.
I found Aguila Match Pistol to be even softer than Lapua or ET and it did not suit me. I sold my large stash of that on to some lucky boys in Michigan.

Re: Eley Bullseye Pistol .22 Ammo
Appreciate the response. I decided to end the attempt of using Bullseye X in my SP by changing parts to get it to work. I just placed a big order for SK Pistol Match which works great in the gun and that should resolve the issue. Thanks, Manny.

Re: Eley Bullseye Pistol .22 Ammo
Mr. Chapman,
I tried the Eley bulk that had been available from CMP
in my Nelson and got the same results that you got with this Eley.
The Nelson I have has been a challenge to get where it will run
SV of any flavor near 100%.
I will start another thread and go into details.
