There is a size limit for photos.
Another option is to host them on a photo site and post them here using the Url and the "Insert Image" button
See this sticky for more info-

If you are doing everything per instructions once you send all and then insert all just give it some time on the screen. Large file sizes take a while.

Re: Enigma 41-1 without the -1 pics
Greetings,
My S&W Collector's book says the first Model 41 was introduced in 1957 at serial #1401.
The section on the M41-1 says it was introduced about 1960 at serial #20000.
It also mentions the not all M41-1's had the "-1" stamp.
You would do well to telephone S&W and ask when your pistol was manufactured. It may be quite valuable to a collector.
Cheers,
Dave

I doubt that you can get the date of manufacture of your S&W pistol by making a phone call, but it wouldn't hurt to try. You may get an idea of the collector interest and value of the 41-1 by joining the S&W Forum. There are a lot of experts there.

Dave - does that magic book of yours give sales volumes of 41-1, or the .22 short conversion kits?
OP - The only way to substantiate your gun is an un-marked (-1) is to pay the $75 (last I checked) for a certification letter from S&W. With that letter you will learn when you pistol first shipped and if it (based on S/N) shipped with a .22 short barrel. If not, it's a conversion unit. Still desirable, but not as much as a 41-1.

Re: Enigma 41-1 without the -1 pics
According to the serial # chart I believe this is a 59 model 41-1 without -1 the length of the barrel and the compensator make me believe this as the conversion kits were not sold until later and the compensator and barrels were different, they only made 1000 41-1’s and even fewer conversion kits and when sales wained (I would imagine)they built complete pistols out of the remaining kits and that was that, the conversion kits have the shorter 5? Inch barrel that I have seen.TargetShooter27 wrote:Dave - does that magic book of yours give sales volumes of 41-1, or the .22 short conversion kits?

Re: Enigma 41-1 without the -1 pics
The reason for the .22 short barrel was international competition. Those competitions required iron sights which benefit from the longer barrels sight radius. The 7-3/8" barrel was undoubtedly the most popular length in .22 short. I've only seen a few .22 short barrels in other lengths. If you want to know about your pistol you should request the background letter from S&W. I have a model 41 configured in .22 short just like yours. I know it's wearing a conversion kit because S&W certified that my pistol was sold in 1960 with a 5" .22 LR barrel.
