.45 ACP 1911 FIRING PIN RETURN SPRING
Changing out the recoil and main springs in a NM gun my father and I put together from parts he had, While I was doing that, Wolff gives you a firing pin return spring with a recoil spring so I figured I would install it, upon disassembly I found the Wolff spring to be much longer and a little heavier then the spring that is in the slide and the firing pin looks different then todays firing pins, The slide is A REMINGTON RAND SILDE FROM ABOUT 1945, any ideas? where to get a new spring OR will todays firing pin fit this slide with todays spring?

Wolff spring is longer! Tight side of spring slips over the firing pin. Install and make sure firing pin still coming out firing pin hole enough to hit primer positively.
On 99.9% of older pistols I work on the firing pin spring is short.

YES Wolf spring is longer then the spring that is in the slide, WOLFF spring installs and the firing pin comes out a great amount when depressed, but is very strong, is that OK?
