Can anyone tell me if the new HD Micro weaver base screws/comes off the scope tube similar to the Aimpoint Micro?

Jon, do you have one of the new UD Micros now?  Impressions?

KC, no I don't. I want to try one. I don't like how high (photo looks like its high) the weaver mount puts the scope tube above the scope mount rail. Was thinking of maching my own base (low mount) and trying one and comparing to the Aimpoint Micro's I've been using. If it is solid mounted to its weaver mount I probably won't get one.

here is a review on it.  I have seen one on a friends gun.  - he liked his 1" long tube better - indoors the dot on lowest setting is to bright for me

Jon, if you read that article there are a couple of pics of the dot mounted.  I think it's going to be WAY to tall for most applications.  Just have to find out if the base can come off like the Aimpoint Micro's.

Greg Derr mentioned to me, that he looked it over closely at the Shot Show.. Perhaps he will chime in..
Bright is far less of a problem than too dim.. Filters can adjust that..Filters are a must have, and a major short coming of the Aimpoint..It took some work to develop Aimpoint Micro tubes.  It appears from the pictures that at least the objective is threaded for an extension/filter..
It would need majical  powers to cause me to give up the Aimpoint Micro..Smile

Maybe a good option for the FAS 603 and company?

Hello Jon;
I was talking with Greg Derr yesterday.
He just received two new UD Micros.
It appears the base comes off similar to the Aimpoint.  He likes the dot. Very defined.  Give him a call.. He can give you a first hand report..
