Re: SK Std+ at Champion Choice
How does this compare to CCI SV? I know that each pistol can be selective, but I've never shot SK.

Re: SK Std+ at Champion Choice
SK Std+ is softer than CCI SV. I measure about 50 fps difference between them.
Re: SK Std+ at Champion Choice
I've only chrono'd SK Jagd Pistol Match and compared it to CCI SV. The SK Jagd PM was faster than the CCI. I used my Marvel Precision conversion for the tests. On their website SK lists Standard Plus as significantly faster than PM, with PM having a velocity of 285 m/s and Standard Plus having a velocity of 325 m/s. They also say that Standard Plus is a training ammo for pistol and long range rifle. I've had good luck with SK Jagd PM out of my Hammerli 208s and Marvel Precision conversion.

Re: SK Std+ at Champion Choice
Chronograph results from some years ago from my then brand new Marvel Precision.
If you compare the velocity of SK, Wolf, and CCI, there is a different velocity between Wolf and SK. And the CCI velocity is close to the SK, yet CCI cycles fine and SK is weak cycling.
SK 5 shot averages:
930, 934, 922 weak cycling
CCI 5 shot averages:
927, 929 lot 1
932, 942 lot 2 Both CCI lots cycle enthusiastically
It is not totally the velocity component that causes weak cycling
In my Marvel, under the conditions that were.
Chronograph placed about 8' forward. Most of them are
two 5 shot strings each.

All ammos cycled fine except SK Std Plus. Some SK
would not even clear the extractor and went right back
into the chamber. Strange the Wolf was not very close
to the SK like I did expect.
One misfire with Rem, but it fired after rotating.
All this was with a brand new Marvel. Its first time
out on the Les Baer lower Roddy made for the older
Marvel.
Additional tests in a 41. 5.5" barrel shortened and
crowned from a 7".

Re: SK Std+ at Champion Choice
I'll count myself as being very lucky I guess. I have NEVER had any reliability issues with SK Std+ in my HS. It's been the best performing ammo at the lowest price point that I've tried in both my HS and Anschutz rifles.
