Re: Welcome New Members
Good Afternoon,
Good to be among "shooters" again. I shot 2700 matches on a USAF Base Pistol Team in the 1960's, and then devoted my "vacation" time over the past 40 years to reloading, and hunting big game with revolvers (along with shooting a bunch of those pesky chickens, pigs, turkeys, and sheep in the back yard).
Now back to shooting Bullseye and IDPA competition. I had not shot a 1911 since the late 1960's, but am loving it! Didn't remember how much fun those 1911's are!

Re: Welcome New Members
Hi,
I am just starting my competitive shooting life after a decade+ away from the Range.
I am in NoVA and have decided make the range part of my weekly routine, so I hope to get respectable soon :-)
Anyway, having a ball being the weird guy shooting a .22, one handed, at 75', next to the full auto NFA crowd.

Re: Welcome New Members
I have been shooting in an informal league at my range for two years now. I got rained out at SAFS last year at Camp Perry and decided to simply compete this year. Now I am jumping in fully. Going to Canton, Ohio this weekend to shoot my first 2700 if my 1911 shows up in the mail at my FFL by then!!!

Finally managed to Log In. Motorcycle-dan is the user name. Dan Pauley is real name. Shooting Expert indoor and out. Distinguished pistol and revolver. Goals include distinguished rifle and break 2600. Always goal is to introducte new shooters to the sport of BE. Even if money was no issue, I'd still shoot a marvel in .22 and a 1911 in CF & 45. Way to go John Moses Browning....

Hey everyone,
I've been recently reading this forum, so I figured I'd officially join. My real name is Josh, of Massachusetts. I'm 39, and very, VERY new to the sport. I've already gotten a lot of information from all the experts here, and I look forward to learning more.

Welcome. You can pick up a lot of good information here. The e-mail list is still running too. Not everyone participates in both. If you have any questions, just ask. We were all very new at some point.

New Member from Central PA
I am a 66 year old Central PA retired law enforcement supervisor. I have been looking for something new to spend time learning and meeting new folks. I have competed in PPC comps 25 years ago and was a firearms instructor for my department.
I only shoot occasionally now on a small range 15 minutes from home. Usually no one is around. I still fire a tight group with my .40 but would like to try my hand at competing once again. I have no delusions of winning tournaments, but would like to see how good my personal best can become. My name is Rich Reedinger.

Welcome Rich, Ask any question you have and you will get several answers and opinions.
Some of them will be correct! We are all still learning as no one has shot a 2700-270 yet.
Remember it's only a game and you are having fun.
Good health and good shooting.

Hello all. Currenty a service rifle shooter and on the brink of getting Master Class in that. Looking at getting into pistol shooting seeing as I love going to Perry and this gives me another excuse to burn up some leave. Picking up a Springfield RO tomorrow and just got a Kimber 22 kit that I installed on a Gold Cup frame. My home club actually has a pistol leg match and the least I could do is help someone get a leg.

Re: Welcome New Members
Hi Guys. Bill Dutton here. Been shooting Bullseye for about 15 years or so. I am High Master Indoors and Master outdoors.
I am taking over the Hudson Fish and Game Club's Junior Rifle Team so my days of running Pistol Matches in New Hampshire are coming to a temporary end.
I just shot the MA state championship on Sunday and had a great time. Rick, Ron and the others that run that match did a great job.

Re: Welcome New Members
Hi guys. New guy here!!! OK... so a little back story.... Im farly new to shooting. I got my first pistol about 5 years ago, and sadly had nowere near enough range time!!! Im thinking of getting into some competive shooting, and Bullseye sounds like somehting I would like. Back in the 60's-70's my dad used to shoot competivly in the area. [around Albany NY] Sadly we lost him this spring, so I missed my chance to have him walk me through it.. Hoping to join a club this fall, and get some more experance, then look into local shoots. Ive learned alot here just reading for a bit, so figure it was time to sign up!!! Thanks

Welcome to the Bullseye forum Paul!
Very sorry to hear about your Father. I lost mine 11 years ago now and we never had the opportunity to shoot together. There seems to be plenty of Bullseye action in the North East so you should have no problem finding a mentor.
Lots of wisdom on here so feel free to ask any questions you need.

Hello from a newbe from north of the 49th parallel
Shot bullseye in the late 60's with a High Standard Citation on an RCAF team - real life came along for the next 40 odd years - now retired at 65 and collecting and shooting High Standards. Started competition again 2 years ago with a S&W 41, traded it for a new Pardini, sold it and became re-acquainted with my original choice - High Standards. Really enjoying the competition even though my eyes and nerves are a far cry from what they were when I was 20 years old. Looking forward to the discussions on this board. cheers
