Mil Spec Parts - What to use them for?
I have a brand new never fired Springfield Armory 1911 Mil Spec 45 ACP barrel, barrel bushing, barrel link, and barrel link pin. I don't know if I want to sell these parts just yet, but I also don't know what I could use them for either. Are they worth anything for resale? Could they be used in another pistol?

Hello Tim:H11,
Your parts have no value whatsoever. Mail them to me for safe eco-friendly disposal.

Hello Tim:H11,
All joking aside; if you wanted to build a clone of one of the MEU(SOC) variants you could use that slide. Or find a inexpensive frame and build a truck gun. Everything has a value to someone.

Tim,
If you decide to sell your barrel let me know. I've been looking for an inexpensive barrel for a non match pistol project I have going.

Floyd Aikman used Mil Spec barrels to make good shooting BE guns usually GI barrels. Problem is that these barrels have to have metal added (welded) to fit them where as gunsmith fit barrels have extra material that needs to be removed. The bushing might be the least valuable. Though there might be a new slide that it will fit tight in and a barrel the same.
