Need Help regarding 185gr LSWHP
Fellow BE,
I am getting ready to reload 185gr Zero Lead SemiWAd Hollow point bullets. It is difficult to find a load for it. One place says 3.8gr VV N310. One says 3.3gr BE. That is a crazy difference.
Please let me know your recommendations. Also should this be used for 25 & 50 yards.
Thanks

What recoil spring is in the gun? With a stock gun, I would start at 4.5 of BE.
My summer load with an 11lb recoil spring is 3.8 of BE with a Zero 185swc. Gentle recoil, good accuracy in my gun. Used at 50 and 25.
but it won't run in Winter and I up it to 4.0 of BE.

With the stock hammer spring which is like 27 with ILS, try the 4.5. It is not punishing and should cycle fine. You may be able to get lower charges to work though. I'm pretty sure that with the stock Spring I got the RO to cycle at 4.2 or 4.3. But 4.5 should safe side it for you. When you can, get the reduced spring kit and play with it.

If a high master offers different advice on the load, listen to it.

I would bring to your attention that 3.1# is not a legal trigger weight. 3.5 minimum.

First, the "crazy difference" is for two different powders. Next, the loads are far from MAX and will depend on what YOUR gun likes.
My gun preferred 3.8gn AA2, 3.8gn N310, 4.1gn Red Dot, 4.0gn Solo 1000, and 5.1gn 231/HP38. What can I say.
