I think I can now post my target gun pictures...here is my first attempt. First, my model 586 that I used for years for BE shooting in NJ, second
is a link to my Volquartsen LLV-6 on a Ruger MkII frame with Volquartsen innards, third, my 52 with regular grips (sorry it is so oily), fourth is my model 41 and fifth is the overall view of the 52 with Herrett target grips.

New, Current Bullseye Pistols.
Walther/Colt 1911-.22 Rail Gun with Holosun HS510C 2 Red Dot Sight.
Colt Competition Model .45 with MatchDot 2 for Centerfire and Service Pistol.
I finally found in the Walther/Colt 1911-.22 Rail Gun a 1 to 1 shape and size compared to the Colt Competition. Parts are interchangeable with other 1911s and no special tools are needed for its standard disassembly/reassembly except that the barrel is pinned in place. One review points out the following:
"With a family tree worthy of any Daytime Soap Opera, this particular gun which is sold as a Colt 1911-22…is manufactured by Walther…which is owned by Smith & Wesson and is based off of a specialized 1911 frame designed by Umarex, which is known for Airsoft guns. In the dog world, this would be called a “mutt.” Don’t let its odd pedigree fool you; this gun is as awesome of a pet as your faithful Schnoodle."
I appreciated the picatinny sight rail in that it allowed me to install a UM3 sight mount without drilling and tapping. It did not allow much room to install a Matchdot 2, so I upgraded to a Holosun 510C red dot sight. I love the solar panels. The battery is in a drawer - not under a screw on lid.

New Colt 1911 .22 lr and Ivory White Polymer Grips on both.
Garrison Grips 1911 for Colt Full Size and Clones with US Navy Medallion Set in Ivory White Polymer Grips.
The rimfire is described this way, "With a family tree worthy of any Daytime Soap Opera, this particular gun which is sold as a Colt 1911-22…is manufactured by Walther…which is owned by Smith & Wesson and is based off of a specialized 1911 frame designed by Umarex, which is known for Airsoft guns. In the dog world, this would be called a 'mutt.'... This is an all metal gun that handles just like a Government 1911 for about $450+/- and you can get 10 or 12 round magazines for it. The controls, the trigger, the safety– they all work just like a 1911. ” in https://www.pewpewtactical.com/colt-1911-22-beginner-gun-review.

Sold all my Bullseye guns when I came down with cancer in 2014. Decided to start shooting in a local league just for giggles. FCW's work is first rate. Very happy with the performance of this gun.

Wow, man. I'm glad that you are beating the big C.
Staying active is key.
All the 1911 .22's seemed to have too much aluminum and zinc alloy construction. Not good for drilling, tapping, and installing a sight rail. This one has a tactical chin rail, so I got out the UM3 sight rail and shopped for the other kind of red dot. This Holosun costs more than my Matchdot II but has gadgets like solar panels and "shake and wake" activation.

Nah. Click this Search on YouTube.mikemyers wrote:This one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYZ7dCMHk0c
Here's a 9 video review playlist.
But why do they call it a holographic red dot sight? That's an oxymoron. It's one or the other.
Since you look over the chassis into the widow, it's a red dot.
I don't like the next gen version. It has a green LED and costs more.
Since I had less room on the UM3 sight rail, I couldn't go with a Matchdot.
Here's a text based review.

Hey guys, this is supposed to be a thread of gun pics and descriptions. Let's not turn it into another conversational thread.

Won the senior division of the President's Hundred at Perry last year with this one...built by Justin McMillan (former AMU gunsmith) in Texas. Target is at 50 yds, 10 shots (machine rest), 185 grain Federal factory.

Bob, you used to be a damn good ball shooter back in the day! So I'm not surprised you won senior division....

Thanks, Jon. Trying to get back into it, but it's a lot harder than I thought it would be. Lots of great stuff here that's really helped, like changing my training routine.

Good target. Why the yellow tape on the trigger guard?RGK wrote:Won the senior division of the President's Hundred at Perry last year with this one...built by Justin McMillan (former AMU gunsmith) in Texas. Target is at 50 yds, 185 grain FED factory.

Re: Show Me Your Bullseye Pistols
The tape on the trigger guard means that the trigger pull is "legal"...it's been weighed and passed (4 lbs, service pistol) by one of the armory vans at Perry before the match.

Re: Show Me Your Bullseye Pistols
My next match at the Hollywood Rifle and Pistol Club is a week from Sunday. I'll once again see if my Model 41 will behave as expected. One by one, the issues are being resolved.
For the match after that, I plan to use my newest gun, a S&W Model 17-5 22 caliber, with Nill grips. It just got here two days ago, but had sight problems. They should be fixed by the next match.
No more hunting for "where in heck did the dot go????". No optics, no magazines, no nothing, just plain old fashioned revolver.

Does that stand for, "Excellence In Competition?" If so, how many points do you have now?

Yes it does. I have 24 points towards .22 Distinguished now. You need 30, including an 8 or 10 pointer leg. Should finish up at Perry next month.

It is probably due to a slow internet.
Re: Show Me Your Bullseye Pistols
I am having the same issue. I checked my DSL speed and I am getting 30 Mbps down which is normal for the type of service I have.mikemyers wrote:(Is it just me, or why does it seem to take forever lately before images in posts show up??)
The pictures on this forum thread took almost 5 minutes to load and render. Either the file sizes (accumulated) are very large or there is something wrong at the server end. I do not have the same issue at other sites where there are large amount of pics to view.
Once the browser cache has the pics, they render without issue....but clear the cache and then see how long it takes (a loooooong time!).
